BE, ARM, AXTI, INTC, SKHY, SNDK: Six Selloffs, Two Zones Each

September 28, 2026 / Intraday research

Six sharp selloffs.
Six different investment tests.

A deep dive into BE, ARM, AXTI, INTC, SKHY and SNDK, with two watch zones per stock and the evidence that matters before considering a purchase.

Business qualityValuation pressureExecution riskMemory cycles

A sharp decline can create an opportunity, expose an overpriced business, or reveal a weakening investment thesis. The chart alone cannot distinguish those outcomes. That is especially important when several companies linked to AI infrastructure fall together.

This watchlist covers power generation, processor intellectual property, optical materials, manufacturing and memory. The companies share exposure to technology spending, but their earnings engines differ. A useful response to the selloff begins by identifying what must remain true for each investment case to work.

Price and zone methodology: Reference prices below preserve the supplied September 28 intraday snapshot; an exact capture time was not provided. They are not closing prices or synchronized live quotes. Daily changes are recalculated against the previous closes shown by the linked market-data pages. Both watch zones per stock come from the supplied analysis and have not been independently validated as historical chart bases.

Rotation is a possible explanation, not a proven cause

The original snapshot describes a modest Dow decline alongside a rising NVIDIA share price. That pattern is consistent with selective weakness, but it does not establish where capital is moving or why investors are selling these six companies.

The Dow is a price-weighted index with a different composition from the semiconductor and AI-infrastructure universe. Comparing it with one outperforming stock cannot rule out broader risk reduction, sector-specific concerns or company news. A strong NVIDIA session also cannot certify the financial health of every supplier.

To strengthen a rotation thesis, examine broader market breadth, sector performance, volume and several sessions of relative strength. Company announcements and earnings revisions deserve equal attention. Until then, “rotation within AI” is a working interpretation, not a confirmed explanation of the session.

Six stocks and two price zones to investigate

The ranges are observation areas rather than automatic buy orders. The percentage columns show how far each range lies below its reference price. A lower entry improves the arithmetic only if the business assumptions still hold.

Swipe horizontally on mobile. Distance = (1 − zone price ÷ reference price) × 100. BE recalculates to −8.95%, slightly different from the supplied −8.93%. Market-data links may display newer prices.

Zone 1 is the nearer checkpoint; Zone 2 is a deeper scenario. Neither identifies fair value, a guaranteed bottom or a suitable stop-loss. Claims that these bands coincide with breakouts, triangle patterns or major accumulation bases require separate chart verification.

BE / BLOOM ENERGY

Demand needs delivery capacity

Watch Zone 1: $235–250   ·   Watch Zone 2: $200–220

Bloom’s second-quarter release reported revenue of $1.065 billion, up 165.5% year over year, and GAAP gross margin of 33.4%. Those results demonstrate substantial commercial activity. They do not settle whether the share price adequately discounts future execution risk.

The company’s February 2026 presentation showed approximately $20 billion of total backlog and an expectation that existing factories would reach 2 GW of capacity by year-end. Both figures need their dates and definitions attached. Announced capacity is not the same as achieved shipments.

Backlog is not near-term revenue

Product commitments, long-term service arrangements and accounting remaining performance obligations can cover different scopes and periods. A smaller accounting disclosure cannot be compared mechanically with a broad commercial backlog without reading exclusions, cancellation rights and recognition policies. This article does not carry forward the supplied $494 million comparison as a verified, like-for-like reconciliation.

The investment question is how quickly demand converts into installed, accepted systems and collected cash. Manufacturing throughput, installation timing, customer financing and service costs all influence that conversion. A large opportunity can coexist with working-capital pressure and project delays.

Within either watch zone, look for updated delivery evidence and stable economics rather than assuming the backlog protects the price. Material commissioning delays, weaker cash conversion or customer project changes would require revisiting the thesis before adding exposure.

ARM / ARM HOLDINGS

Growth must clear the valuation hurdle

Watch Zone 1: $255–270   ·   Watch Zone 2: $230–245

Arm’s fiscal first-quarter 2027 shareholder letter, covering the quarter ended June 30, 2026, reported revenue of $1.29 billion and royalty revenue of $715 million, both up 22% year over year. Data-center royalties more than doubled. These are meaningful operating developments, separate from daily stock volatility.

The same letter describes Arm’s move into production silicon through its AGI CPU. That expands the opportunity while introducing a different business question: how will a supplier of intellectual property manage relationships when it also offers products that can overlap with customers’ designs?

A strong business can still disappoint a demanding price

The supplied forward P/E of approximately 115 times depends on the quotation time, forecast period and earnings definition. It should not be treated as a fixed fact without those inputs. A more useful exercise tests what happens if earnings grow but the multiple investors accept declines.

Reuters reported in May, citing Bloomberg, an FTC investigation into Arm’s licensing practices. That is reported regulatory scrutiny, not a finding of wrongdoing, and the report does not prove a connection to this particular selloff.

At either zone, reassess royalty growth, licensing quality and the investment required for silicon expansion. A rebound without improved valuation support can remain fragile. Conversely, a lower price does not by itself resolve customer conflicts or regulatory uncertainty.

AXTI / AXT

Export access is part of the earnings model

Watch Zone 1: $64–70   ·   Watch Zone 2: $52–58

AXT’s second-quarter results reported $47.6 million of revenue versus $18.0 million a year earlier. GAAP gross margin increased to 44.9% from 8.0%; the comparable non-GAAP figures were 45.0% and 8.2%. Keeping the two accounting bases separate avoids a misleading comparison.

Management linked demand to data-center optical connectivity. The key distinction is that interest in the product and the ability to ship it are different conditions. Strong orders cannot become recognized sales on the desired schedule when export permissions are delayed.

Permits can overwhelm the chart

The company explicitly identifies export permits for indium phosphide substrates as a risk. Its January 8, 2026 update described orders it could not ship in December while it worked through the permit process. That makes this a documented operating exposure, rather than a purely hypothetical geopolitical concern.

Monitor approvals, shipment conversion, customer concentration and cash collection together. Improving factory efficiency is valuable, but it cannot substitute for market access. Also distinguish optical-material economics from those of DRAM or NAND; AXTI is not simply another memory-cycle stock.

The supplied $64–70 and $52–58 bands should remain conditional. A fresh restriction could undermine the rationale for both. Without independently verifying the chart pattern, it would be unjustified to call a move below $52 definitive proof that a triangle breakout failed.

INTC / INTEL

The loss needs an accounting explanation

Watch Zone 1: $105–112   ·   Watch Zone 2: $92–100

Intel’s second-quarter 2026 release reported revenue of $16.1 billion, up 25%, and GAAP operating income of approximately $1.8 billion. GAAP net loss attributable to Intel was approximately $11.0 billion, while non-GAAP net income was approximately $2.2 billion.

The reconciliation includes $12.529 billion of losses from marking escrowed shares to market. Intel links that item to a derivative liability associated with its U.S. government agreement. It is therefore inaccurate to explain the entire net loss as factory spending or restructuring expense. Capital investment also does not pass through net income dollar for dollar when paid.

Improvement and unfinished execution can coexist

The operating results undermine an absolute claim that the rally had no earnings improvement behind it. They do not establish that the turnaround is complete. Product competitiveness, manufacturing yields, external customer commitments and returns on invested capital still require evidence.

The practical task is to separate operating progress, non-operating accounting changes and cash requirements. Removing a large accounting charge does not remove financing risk; focusing only on that charge can also conceal real progress. Both errors lead to an incomplete valuation.

At $105–112 or $92–100, investigate whether the assumptions behind manufacturing growth have strengthened or weakened. A historical price band cannot establish what the foundry business will earn. Changes in customer commitments or process execution would matter more than symbolic headlines about legacy Intel-based devices.

SKHY / SK HYNIX

Exceptional margins need a durability test

Watch Zone 1: $165–175   ·   Watch Zone 2: $148–160

SKHY refers here to SK hynix’s Nasdaq-traded U.S. depositary security. The company’s official announcement confirms its July 10, 2026 trading debut. The dollar zones in this article must not be applied directly to the Korean-listed ordinary shares or another depositary instrument.

Its second-quarter 2026 results reported revenue of approximately KRW79.32 trillion and operating profit of KRW60.54 trillion. Operating margin was 76%, compared with 72% in the first quarter. The supplied 72% reference therefore describes the earlier quarter, not the latest reported margin.

Contract quality matters alongside contract length

Longer supply arrangements can improve visibility, but their effect depends on pricing resets, committed volumes, cancellation terms and customer credit. They do not universally fix prices or eliminate cycle risk. This analysis does not assume the supplied 60–70% capacity-lock figure applies across the company without a dated disclosure.

For the forward thesis, investigate HBM customer qualification, product mix, manufacturing yields and industry capacity. Keep published results separate from third-quarter estimates; an estimate is neither a reported profit nor proof of a future record.

The first band of $165–175 and deeper $148–160 band are points to revisit those assumptions. For a depositary security, exchange rates and differences between U.S. and Korean trading hours also affect comparisons. A falling U.S. price needs interpretation beyond the memory narrative alone.

SNDK / SANDISK

Pricing strength is both evidence and a risk

Watch Zone 1: $1,520–1,600   ·   Watch Zone 2: $1,400–1,470

Sandisk’s fiscal 2026 results reported revenue of approximately $20.25 billion and GAAP net income of $11.43 billion. The release also attributed roughly two-thirds of fourth-quarter sequential revenue growth to higher pricing, with the remainder from higher volumes.

That split is more informative than treating all growth as additional units sold. It shows how much current performance benefits from pricing. It also explains why investors need scenarios for different price environments, even when end-market demand remains healthy.

High profitability does not date the cycle peak

Unusually strong margins can encourage competing supply, but they do not prove that a peak has already occurred. Technology transitions, product mix and customer agreements can change the duration of favorable conditions. Neither “a permanent new era” nor “the cycle must turn immediately” should be accepted without evidence.

Watch realized pricing, bit shipments, inventories, production investment and gross margin together. Margin pressure may flag a change before revenue slows, but it does not always do so. Costs and mix can also move margins independently of commodity pricing.

The $1,520–1,600 and $1,400–1,470 bands should be evaluated against that operating picture. A lower quotation after a change in earnings expectations can still be expensive. The thesis would need revision if weaker pricing, rising supply and slower inventory turnover begin reinforcing one another.

A buying plan needs conditions for saying no

Staging purchases can preserve flexibility, but the second zone is not automatically the better opportunity. If the probability of permanent impairment rises faster than the price falls, the expected outcome may worsen. Holding cash does not create an obligation to deploy it.

A useful plan states the thesis, the evidence required before entry, the maximum intended exposure and the conditions that cancel further purchases. Decide those conditions while the position is still hypothetical. Once invested, the desire to improve the average purchase price can distort judgment.

Separate a price alert from an investment decision

For each zone, prepare a short checklist before the price arrives. Record the latest operating assumption, the information that could invalidate it, and the maximum capital committed across both ranges. A price alert should prompt that review rather than trigger an automatic decision based only on the percentage decline.

Then compare the expected holding period with the underlying thesis. A multi-year manufacturing turnaround cannot be judged solely by one afternoon’s candle. A short-term rebound trade should not quietly become a long-term investment when it loses money. Both approaches need clear boundaries.

Finally, keep a dated record of changes. If an earnings estimate falls after the stock declines, calculate valuation again using the revised estimate. Reusing yesterday’s optimistic denominator can make today’s price look cheaper than the new information supports.

Six positions can still share one major exposure

These businesses are not identical, and several serve important markets outside AI data centers. Nevertheless, a slowdown in AI infrastructure investment could affect multiple holdings together. Position counts should therefore be supplemented by a review of common customers, spending drivers and total portfolio exposure.

There is also no rule that an investor must be willing to average down before making an initial purchase. A valid strategy may involve one entry and an exit if the thesis fails. The requirement is a coherent risk plan, not a commitment to keep buying as prices fall.

Frequently asked questions

Are these confirmed accumulation zones?

No. They are supplied watch ranges. Their proposed historical chart origins were not independently validated, and they do not establish intrinsic value.

Does NVIDIA rising prove this is only rotation?

No. It demonstrates relative price strength at that moment. Identifying the cause of the wider selloff requires more market and company evidence.

Is Intel’s reported loss equivalent to cash burned?

No. Its latest reconciliation includes a large fair-value adjustment. Operating results, financing activity and cash flows must be examined separately.

Should I buy more if Zone 2 is reached?

Only a fresh assessment can answer that. A lower price does not override changed fundamentals, portfolio limits or an invalidated thesis.

Are these prices suitable for later trading sessions?

They are dated intraday references. Update prices, filings and chart conditions before using the framework again.

The price decline starts the investigation

BE requires delivery evidence, ARM requires growth that supports expectations, AXTI requires export access, and Intel requires careful separation of accounting effects from execution. SKHY and SNDK require a view on sustainable memory economics. The strongest plan connects each price zone to those specific tests.
